About Us
xichty.cz is the original Czech photo server dedicated to music photography. You will find an archive of more than 2,600 photo reports with more than 256,000 photographs from concerts and festivals.
History
2001
- ▸At the end of 2001, the first website was founded at stiff.fv.cz, as a reaction to the arrival of digital cameras. First digital shots with Olympus C1 camera (1MPix).
- ▸Technology: first static HTML, later PHP + "database" in text file.
2002
- ▸Address changed to xichty.fv.cz with the "green" design. An interesting feature was that the website had an entrance screen with a bottle opener, which changed so that it was always open.
- ▸Website motto: private website of the future vision team (pierre, stiff and mch), where we display our photos and photos of all people around us.
- ▸Technology: ASP + MSSQL
2003
- ▸Registration of the domain xichty.cz and migration of original content to this address.
2004
- ▸Stiff brought Knut to the website and together they began to focus the website on concert photography. The website was dressed in a "blue" design.
- ▸First concert accreditations - the very first accredited event was Cerebral Turbulency, Growing Fear, Devastathor, Bitterness held at Bar-Rock in Třinec.
- ▸Website motto: not only music photo
- ▸162 photo reports published.
2005
- ▸In April, the official launch of the new version took place, which was associated with the organization of the concert event "XICHTY.CZ MECHECHÉ - celebration of the new website".
- ▸First festival accreditations, media support for concerts and festivals.
- ▸At the end of the year, unfortunately the first very unpleasant experience in the form of theft of a Canon EOS 350D camera at the Open Air Trnkobraní festival.
- ▸Website motto: photo reports not only of guitar music
- ▸259 photo reports published.
2006
- ▸The first festival "Xichty.cz Open Air" took place in Frýdek-Místek.
- ▸202 photo reports published.
2007
- ▸One of the most successful years - website traffic reached up to 2,500 unique users per day during the summer months.
- ▸Under the xichty.cz brand, the second festival "Xichty.cz HC minifest" took place.
- ▸211 photo reports published.
2008
- ▸At the end of the year, the website was shut down and a diligent search for a new owner began.
- ▸263 photo reports published.
2010
- ▸After several unsuccessful attempts, a contract for the transfer of the xichty.cz domain to a new owner was signed with a promise to continue and preserve older reports. Around mid-year, the website was restored on the xichty.cz domain by new owners.
- ▸The new owners failed in many ways to fulfill the ideas of the original owners Stiff and Knut, so at the end of the year the xichty.com domain was purchased and work began on a completely new website with old content at the new address.
2011/1
- ▸Launch of xichty.com...

2011/7
- ▸Back to xichty.cz domain...
2021
- ▸Active operation discontinued during Covid and never resumed.
2026
- ▸Fifth complete website rewrite with modern design and technologies. Preservation of all historical data and photographs.
- ▸Technology: Next.js 16 (frontend) + FastAPI (backend) + PostgreSQL 18 + Cloudflare R2
